Enz Vineyard  “Enz is Magic.”

The Enz Vineyard boasts historic wines dating back to 1887, which were originally planted by homesteaders. Tucked away in a remote part of San Benito County, Enz holds the distinction of being the only vineyard in its AVA, Lime Kiln Valley. The soils are made up of limestone bedrock and decomposed granite – unique in California and wonderful for creating express, driven wines. Dry farmed and organic, our Zinfandel vines were planted in 1991, from the original cuttings dating to the 1890s in a process called massale selection. We are fortunate to be able to make wine from this truly special place.

Massa Estate

Deep in the Carmel Valley, the true Santa Lucia Highlands, lies Massa Estate. First planted in 1968 with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc it was thereafter planted with other Bordeaux varietals and Riesling. We are honored to have had the opportunity to participate in the rehab of the vineyard, which began with the purchase of the estate in 2018. Our own-rooted Chardonnay vines and exceptionally expressive mountain Merlot come from the truly exceptional, organic vineyard.
